Houston is the most populated city in the state of Texas and the fourth most populated in the entire country. It is located in the southeastern part of the country, very close to the Gulf of Mexico. Its population is approximately 2.3 million inhabitants, distributed in an area of 1,552 square kilometers.

Houston owes its name to the man who, in the years of the city's founding, was the President of the Republic of Texas, the former General San Houston. The city, originally rural, underwent an important change with the discovery of oil in 1901. Today Houston has a strong economy, which is supported by the energy and petroleum industry, manufacturing, aeronautics and transportation. It is also home to the Texas Medical Center, the largest concentration of research and health institutions in the world. Houston is also known for Space, so if you are interested in this topic then this is a city that must be in your bucket list.
